Dean sighed as he walked through the door, head down, eyes heavy. He was so ready to just flop on his bed, close his eyes and fall asleep to Enter Sandman playing in his head. As he dropped his keys on the table he paused. Something wasn't right in the room. Dean rolled over, muttering about being woken up. He glanced at the digital clock by his bed. The red numbers said it was ten past one in the morning. He groaned, and flicked on the lamp.
"Dean?" Sam asked.
Dean immediately felt guilty for his anger as he saw the fear on his brother's face, and sat up.
"What is it Sammy?" he asked gently.
"I got scared. I had a bad dream," the five year old mumbled, hanging his head.
Dean smiled slightly. At least it wasn't a monster or anything trying to hurt his little brother. And at least it was something he could fix.
Sam started to walk away, "It's stupid, sorry for waking you up."
